Peace! Be still...

In times of sickness, troubles, persecutions, stress, addictions depressions, and other problems of life you and I face, we often, –as it is our natural tendency– seek earnestly for the solutions of such storms we go through. Certainly, one of the avenues we desperately run towards to in these rough times is God. “Please, God! Help me! Please, heal my sickness. Save my marriage! Help me in school! At my job! In my relationship!” And the list goes on…

But perhaps the Lord is not interested in healing your sickness and deliver you from the oppressor, depression, anxiety, family, work, school, and other problems of life you and I may have.  You see, throughout Scripture you’ll notice that God is very good at what He does –Soul saving.

Unlike human beings who very often just want God to solve the problem, He instead likes to deal with the root of the issue, and the avenue that He constantly uses to deal with that root is the foundation of PEACE.

“You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in you, all whose thoughts are fixed on you!” (Isaiah 26:3).

In various difficult scenes of my life where I’ve been confused, burdened, and troubled, I remember repeatedly crying out to Him in need of His help. But time after time I’ve heard Him whispering, “Peace! Be still!”

And for a moment the whole world stops…

Sickness may still be present  … but I’m at peace
Work problems are still present… but I’m at peace.
School problems are still present… but I’m at peace.
Family problems are  still present… but I’m at peace.
Financial problems are still present… but I’m at peace.
It doesn’t matter if the world is coming down… I AM AT PEACE.

SO PRAY FOR PEACE:

Peace is a gift of God: “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid” (John 14:27).

Problems and storms in life are a GUARANTEED –you will always have them. HOWEVER, you can pray and ask for that peace, and as a result you will let go, let God, and be at peace.

Blessings!
